We suggest one trade the LA Clippers could make with the Atlanta Hawks.
We have reached the end of the road in our series attempting to find one trade for the LA Clippers to make with every single team in the NBA. Our final hypothetical trade partner is the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks currently sit in 14th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 20-47. They are building toward the future with a bevy of young talent they have assembled over the past few NBA drafts.
They’ve found an All-Star in Trae Young, a capable backcourt partner in Kevin Huerter, a 20-and-10 forward in John Collins, and a pair of swingmen with major potential in De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish. They also added athletic 25-year-old center Clint Capela from the Houston Rockets in a four-way deal.
The future is bright for Atlanta. How bright depends on the development of their young talent. For our hypothetical trade with the Hawks, we look to the past.
Why we suggest this trade for the LA Clippers:
The 43-year-old Vince Carter has technically retired after an amazing (or should we say, half-man, half-amazing) 21-year career in the NBA. He’s dazzled us in the dunk contest, he’s been an All-Star, and All-NBA player, an all-time athletic marvel, but he’s never been an NBA champion. We want to bring him to Los Angeles for one final run at a ring with the Clippers.
Would the Hawks do it?
Only if they have a heart.
