When approached by TMZ over the weekend, Austin Rivers said he would boycott a White House visit if the LA Clippers were to win the Finals.
Over the weekend, TMZ caught up with Austin Rivers of the LA Clippers. Austin was asked if he would visit the White House if the team were to win the Finals. His answer?
“NOPE.”
TMZ asked Rivers this after the Golden State Warriors reportedly agreed as a team to not go to the White House for their visit after winning the NBA Finals. The New England Patriots also had several players skip out on the invitation, but a good amount of the team did still attend.
Rivers has been very vocal this offseason. He has talked to TMZ several times and has done a few Instagram Live sessions. He was adamant about not breaking up the team, going as far as saying it would be idiotic to do so. With the hiring of Jerry West, maybe the team won’t have to be broken up.

Coming off his best season in his young career, Rivers is one of the few players the Clippers do have locked up going into next season. His future with the team could be short lived though, as there have been rumors that he could be linked to a possible trade for Carmelo Anthony.
TMZ has been active in keeping up with the LA Clippers players. Earlier in the summer, they caught up with DeAndre Jordan. DJ was asked about the possibility of trading Blake Griffin after comments made by former Clipper Jared Dudley. DeAndre simply dismissed the comments.
