While the LA Clippers will already have their hands full with trying to resign their own stars, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, should they try and pry Carmelo Anthony away from the dumpster fire that is known as the New York Knicks? Would he be a good fit?

It is no secret that the LA Clippers will look to improve their roster anyway they can this summer. The only problem is they are pretty much tied up financially. So, the only way the Clippers will be able to add solid player would be through the trade market, which shrinks their choices and chances.

Danilo Gallinari, Luol Deng, and Wilson Chandler have all been linked to the Clippers in the past, but nothing ever came of the rumors that swirled. The problem with those guys is that LA would have to give up the little bit of young talent and the few draft picks Doc hasn’t traded yet to get them.

That’s where Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks come in.

If you’ve missed all the drama surrounding Melo and New York, you’d have to be living under a rock. I know I frequent Bleacher Report and scroll through Twitter all day, but even my Fiancé asked me about the Knicks—and she hates sports.

This is the short version if you missed it: Basically, James Dolan is a terrible owner who hates basketball and Phil Jackson hates anything that isn’t a triangle. Being that Melo isn’t a triangle, he wants to get rid of him. The problem is Carmelo, the non-triangle, has a No-Trade Clause in his contract. This means he basically gets to pick where he wants to go. Being that Melo has such a great time banana boating, he wants to join forces with someone from his “posse”. LeBron doesn’t have room for him, and Dwyane Wade doesn’t even know where he is going to play next year.

That leaves CP3 and the Clippers, which is pretty stinking awesome for LA. Basically, all they would have to do is match salaries and the trade is done—good thing Doc has overpaid some players, right? But the question still remains, is Carmelo the right fit?
