Bogdan Bogdanovic's future with the Clippers is painfully obvious

As many say, the first impression is often the last; it is difficult in every aspect of life to change an initial thought. This terminology is widely used, and it also applies to the NBA, as well as how fans perceive players once they arrive.

Furthermore, players of high caliber do not set the bar for themselves in introductory press conferences, as most simply speak with optimism and championship hopes. On the other hand, fans look at recent history and establish their own standards for what is expected.

The LA Clippers found Bogdan Bogdanovic’s name for a low cost in the trade portal. When the news became public in February, many fans used what was given up, along with his statistics with the Atlanta Hawks, to remain practical and not hope for the three-point specialist who dominated in 2024 to return.

Thus, fans remained straight-faced, with no disappointment whatsoever, when Bogdanovic appeared to be trying to ignite his confidence by shot-chucking. In fact, because his contract is friendly, some were waiting until the offseason to see where Lawrence Frank would trade him.

But Bogdanovic created a new impression and redeemed himself, and drilled one of the biggest three-pointers of his career, which finalized the first-ever triple-double for Ivica Zubac. Moments like this are what fans will remember about how quickly the judgement on the veteran guard had changed.

The Clippers did add Bradley Beal and improve their bench, making it difficult for Bogdanovic to win Sixth Man of the Year next season, but the intention from Lawrence Frank was never to trade the Serbian star. He was always a part of the team’s plans for 2025-26.

Yet, with an injured hamstring, the Clippers should explore the market and work with teams that need shooting guard depth and a trustworthy veteran.

The LA Clippers’ best interest is to trade Bogdan Bogdanovic as soon as possible

The hamstring injury Bogdan Bogdanovic just suffered in the EuroBasket could be one that moves him to team number four. The LA Clippers need depth, and though Bogdanovic could have had a surreal season with honors as a finalist for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year, he may not be seen on the floor for a while.

In fact, time will be his best friend in physical therapy. This time could be given to Bogdanovic from another team, like the Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, or Boston Celtics, as these Eastern Conference contenders need offensive and shooting assistance.
