Draft Day Trades
There is always the possibility that the Los Angeles Clippers take their two picks and trade them in order to move up the lottery. Over the past few weeks, there have been rumblings that the team has interest in a couple of top prospects, namely Luka Doncic and Michael Porter Jr. (who we also profiled!)
Then, there’s always the possibility the team trades back in the draft in order to gain more assets. At this point, nothing seems off the table, but we’ll focus on the more “fun” rumors.

The Michael Porter Jr. rumors started a few weeks ago, when Kevin O’Connor reported that a couple league executives believed that the team would be open to moving up for Porter. There may be some hesitation now considering Porter has stopped working out for teams due to a hip injury. That, combined with his back injury during college may put up red flags for franchises. Should he drop all the way to 12 or 13 though, don’t be surprised to see the Clippers take the risk in grabbing him.
Meanwhile, the Luka Doncic rumors have cropped up more recently. Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported that the Clippers had looked at moving both of their picks in order to take the Serbian star. Doncic’s stock has been surprisingly falling, despite continuing to play at a high level in Europe while other prospects just do one on zero workouts here in the states.
Both players could be potential superstars, but Doncic seems like the safer bet. His floor is a lot higher than Porter’s, so giving up assets for him makes more sense on paper. Giving up their assets for these two isn’t the only possibility for the Clippers though…
