On Monday, the Los Angeles Clippers completed a shocking trade, sending Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons and received back a package including Tobias Harris.

We’re all still trying to recover. Looking to save money, as well as pick up younger players and draft picks, the Los Angeles Clippers traded the face of the franchise, Blake Griffin. In the trade with the Pistons, LA acquired Avery Bradley, Tobias HarrisBoban Marjanovic, a 2018 protected first-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick. As we examine the trade, it’s time to take a look at one of the players LA got back.

Today, we take a look at Tobias Harris.

Tobias Harris

Harris was drafted with the No. 19 pick in the 2011 draft. Later in the evening, he was traded from Charlotte to Milwaukee. He spent a year-and-a-half with the Bucks, before being traded to the Orlando Magic. Ironically, it was in a deal involving former Clipper J.J. Redick. Harris spent four seasons in Orlando, averaging nearly 16 points and seven rebounds a game.

On Feb. 16, 2016, Harris was traded to the Detroit Pistons. In the last two seasons with Detroit, Harris has upped his scoring, averaging 17 points a game. Through 48 games this season, Tobias is having a career year. The forward was leading the team in scoring, putting in over 18 a game.  Shooting a career-high 40 percent from deep, Harris has already knocked down 113 three’s on the season, which is a career-high as well.

The most exciting part about Harris is the fact he’s only 25 years old. Even more exciting, is the fact that he’s gotten better each year. The departure of Griffin still stings, but the acquisition of Harris should bring excitement to Clippers fans. Tobias Harris hasn’t even reached his prime yet, and is under contract until next season.
