Worldwide, the NBA is regarded as the premier, most competitive basketball league. This is the dream of every player, as they can drastically change their lives and those of their families by putting the ball in the hoop and defending with a purpose.

However, players can still be elite on both sides of the ball, but because of limited traction from NBA scouts and minimal attention on social media, they do not get the deserved chance to play in the league run by commissioner Adam Silver.

A similar concept is followed in reverse, as many veterans choose other countries to play in because the opportunity to be the top option is higher, and they feel more of a priority. NBA legend Dwight Howard starring in Taiwan is a phenomenal example, given that he began to shred opponents with the skill set his employers in the association have developed.

The LA Clippers have their own example of a legend who went overseas after a successful, life-changing tenure in the NBA, with Patrick Beverley. In fact, Beverley was with the core of Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell that shifted the Clippers culture into their newest era.

Current Clippers, such as Kawhi Leonard, still have a strong bond with Beverley, as they communicate throughout the season, checking in on one another. Additionally, Beverley is not scared to hide the fact that he is Ivica Zubac’s biggest fan, and from the jump, he rode the bandwagon that the seven-footer would one day be the star that he is today.

Nonetheless, Beverley reportedly had an interest in playing in the NBL, a basketball league in New Zealand and Australia, but the team he wanted to join did not want him.

The Perth Wildcats of the NBL rejected Patrick Beverley’s interest in playing for them

Patrick Beverley is most known for his defense and hustle-hard mindset throughout a 12-year career. But, fans may forget that Beverley originally began his professional playing days overseas before trusting his gut by signing with the Houston Rockets.

Moreover, Beverley has been a podcast host; yet, according to rumors, he still wanted to play professionally for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL. This should be no surprise, as he may miss the playing aspect.

However, the Wildcats indirectly denied Beverley an opportunity, putting him in his worst nightmare, as now teams in the NBA and around the world are unwilling to offer him a playing contract.
