Although in the past the LA Clippers have found a way to make their weakness a secret, this season that task is hard to accomplish, as all their mistakes stem from their age. However, insult is added to injury, given the number of times the ball is being turned over, compounding the errors already evident.
Head coach Tyronn Lue is powerless in his position over the team’s speed. He may want a faster pace, with a rotation that will not get fatigued, yet the championship head coach has no say in the outcome. In fact, a majority of the Clippers’ best players are deep into their 20s, or already in their 30s, with a play style that only fits into the half-court.
Additionally, the same reason is why the ball is so hard to be protected. Just by looking at the facts, LA has turned the ball over more times than their opponent in nearly all of their ten matchups.
That said, careless turnovers should be prevented with all of these issues in existence, but it is formidable when the cause, the team’s age, is uncontrollable, ultimately magnifying LA’s nightmare.
The LA Clippers' locker room is hiding from the reality
There has been a ton of miscommunication this season, and it is not just between the players themselves. There have been many transparency issues regarding play calls, and Ivica Zubac mentioned both when answering a broad question about the team without Kawhi Leonard.
Moreover, as a star player on the team and someone who sees everything up close, in front of his eyes, Zubac laid out all the facts in his response.
Ivica Zubac gave a long and honest answer last night about the Clippers having problems beyond Kawhi Leonard’s absence — including not knowing the plays at times.

However, simple communication issues are not entirely to blame for the Clippers turning the ball over 17.2 times per game. The hardships in practicing good ball-protection techniques are embedded in the team's older players.
Rightfully so, this is the reality players may not see in the locker room, as they may be busy with the coaching staff trying to find the solution, but when it is all said and done, the truth will be understood, and everyone will realize the extensive heights of their nightmare as a whole due to avoidable slip-ups.
For now, the Clippers are stuck in a tier with the Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and Utah Jazz, all of which are looking forward to winning in the future. This is not a good look for a veteran team trying to win now.
