As a second-round pick in 2019, two-way wing Terance Mann was drafted by the LA Clippers for various reasons. He could stretch the floor, swing the rock, and handle the ball, making him playable at every position. Mann showcased his unique talents in the pre-draft process and impressed Clipper scouts to the highest capacity.

As a sophomore, Mann saw an increased role under head coach Tyronn Lue. He was utilized in several different areas, ultimately forcing defenses to adjust spontaneously. This made it easier for the Clippers down the stretch, leaving opponents with little time to climb back and win.

Just months after a historic playoff run in 2021, the Clippers’ front office extended Mann on a two-year deal. He followed up by having the best season of his career with efficient numbers in all three measurements.

Nearly three years later, the front office, once again, extended the former Florida State Seminole with hopes of another career year. Unfortunately, Mann has underperformed, coercing Clipper fans into questioning why the front office extended him on a three-year fully guaranteed contract.

Head coach Tyronn Lue and the LA Clippers must remain patient with the six-year veteran, Terance Mann.

Due to the recently signed extension, Terance Mann's trade value is significantly lower than it should be. Additionally, Mann has struggled to find a legitimate role in the active rotation, making life harder on both sides of the ball. Teams will take these factors into account and propose an underwhelming return for the Clippers’ second-round gem.

In year six with the Clippers, Mann is arguably having the worst season of his career. He is averaging 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on a career-low true-shooting percentage of 52.0. He has not been effective in the limited minutes he receives under Tyronn Lue and his staff.

Moreover, injuries have never been an issue throughout Mann’s young career. However, this season, the 2021 playoff standout recently suffered a fractured finger that will require surgery. This further complicates his role, as other talents like small forward Jordan Miller have shown more promise.

That said, the Clippers' only option when dealing with Mann is to be patient and hope he bounces back. He has proven himself before and can do it again under the proper circumstances. Mann simply needs a clear mind and the right motivation to return to the court and dominate as he once did.
