The LA Clippers brought back almost everybody for this season, but one player will unfortunately not be with us as we open the season, most likely.

Kawhi Leonard looks like he’ll be out for a significant portion of this next season, as he has a partially torn ACL.

This shakes things up for the whole roster. Three players in particular will see a difference in their role, for many different reasons.

No. 3 LA Clippers player who will experience a role change in 2021: Eric Bledsoe

Eric Bledsoe would have a different role on the LA Clippers than he would on the New Orleans Pelicans regardless if Kawhi was healthy or not, actually.

He’ll be playing much more point guard than he will shooting guard, which he primarily played in New Orleans.

It’s what’s best for the team. He regressed significantly as a shooting guard last year, while Lonzo Ball ran the point for New Orleans.

He didn’t make an All-Defensive Team for the first time since the 2017-2018 season, and averaged just 12.2 points per game with the worst field goal percentage of his career (42.1%).

Ty Lue doesn’t even have the choice to have Bledsoe on the wing all that much, as we traded two point guards in the deal to acquire him.

He’ll be the second string point guard, and he’ll be much better this year due to him being at that best position for him. He will continue to run the point for the second team when Leonard returns from his injury as well.
