Reggie Jackson proved just how vital he is to the LA Clippers‘ plan of attack last postseason, and established himself as the best starting point guard on the team (even before Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo were dealt).

Jackson has a ridiculous amount of potential as a player, and the Clippers really began unlocking it this past season. He hasn’t reached his potential peak just yet, however, but has a great opportunity to do so next season.

Re-signing Jackson was a huge deal this offseason, and his performance is going to be even bigger next year. In order to make sure it happens, though, the Clippers will need to put him in the best positions to succeed.

No. 3 way for the LA Clippers to unlock the potential of Reggie Jackson next season: Keep his teammates healthy

Reggie Jackson at times last season seemed to be the only LA Clippers player who stayed healthy.

All of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Marcus Morris Sr., Patrick Beverley, and Serge Ibaka missed extended time last regular season. Leonard and Ibaka ended up missing extended time in the postseason as well, and Ivica Zubac couldn’t finish the postseason.

Jackson averaged 3.1 assists per game last season. I think that will improve this year now that he’ll be playing the one almost exclusively. But that number’s not going to go up all that much if that many of his teammates are going to be gone.

The team needs to be available for him to facilitate this offense at the highest level.
