No. 1 LA Clippers need in free agency: Someone who can fill in for an injured Kawhi Leonard

The LA Clippers may be without Kawhi Leonard for a long time next year. We really don’t know what his injury timeline is yet.

If that’s the case, they’ll need somebody to come in and take his place while he’s out. Nobody can replace Kawhi, but there are guys who can come in and lessen the blow.

This can be done via free agency. The Clippers don’t have much money to spend, but again, they’re not looking to sign a superstar. They just need somebody who can perform well in the regular season while he’s out.

Perhaps the team could strike a deal with DeMar DeRozan for not too high of a price. He recently said that he really wants to win a title at this point in his career. The Clippers would provide him the chance to do that.

Many free agents would likely lower their price to win a championship, and the Clippers need to take advantage.

They need to take advantage of any low-cost, high-value free agents they can. They’re not rich this offseason, but can still get things done.
