Former LA Clippers Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic air out their friendship on social media.
A great modern-day NBA friendship was born in Detroit in 2016 when Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic were first united as teammates on the Pistons. The pair was traded to the LA Clippers together as part of the Blake Griffin deal in January 2018. Their stint in Los Angeles did not last long, as they were once again part of the same deal when they were shipped to Philadelphia in February of 2019.
The pair seemed inseparable, and their friendship was the stuff the internet went wild for. The pair leaned in, starting the Bobi and Tobi Show on social media, where they would share videos and post content of the two best friends hanging out, having fun, and just simply being best friends.
Harris told NBC Sports that their friendship really blossomed when they came to Los Angeles, saying “When we did come over here it was three of us, but Avery was hurt, we were relatively new to a new situation, and we had a prior friendship, but I think it did help because when you’re in a new city you’re going to go with the person you’re most comfortable with.”
Their blissful union as teammates came to an end this past offseason when Harris signed a five-year deal to remain in Philadelphia and Marjanovic signed a two-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
But the NBA bubble in Orlando has reunited the pair.
With the entire NBA world (well, at least 22 teams) all together in Orlando, the pair are finally reunited in the same place for more than just a single night. But it seems like Marjanovic has moved on and found a new teammate with which to buddy up, much to Harris’ chagrin.
Harris shared this post on his Instagram account of him catching a glimpse of Marjanovic hanging out with new teammate Luka Doncic.
“Look at this man. Hanging out with…Luka” Harris says, sounding dejected as he watches them from the window.
“He forgot about you, T” Harris’ teammate with the 76ers Josh Richardson adds, twisting the knife a little as he laughs.
Later, Marjanovic paid Harris a visit outside of his hotel room to cheer him up, but Harris did not seem to appreciate the gesture.
“I don’t like you no more…you got new friends” Harris responds, seemingly heartbroken.
Of course, the drama all seems to be in good fun and is tailor-made to lead into a hug-filled reunion when the two best friends do get together once again (but how will Luka react?) NBA Twitter will certainly look forward to the moment to make some perfect memes.
The NBA schedule will resume on July 30. Until then, expect more tales of friendship, food, and quarantine-related hijinks from Orlando.
