Tomorrow night, comedy legend Billy Crystal will join Ralph Lawler in the booth to call the LA Clippers versus the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Thursday night, the LA Clippers will face off against their divisional rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. While this game will have a multitude of story lines including LeBron James return, the Anthony Davis trade saga and the fight for Western Conference playoff positions, the real event of note is what’s happening in the booth for the Clips. Legendary commentator Ralph Lawler will be joined by comedy legend Billy Crystal.

Billy Crystal is far and above the team’s most iconic fan, having been spotted in the stands for years, even when the team was not playing well.

Fans tuning in to the Clippers’ broadcast will be in for a treat. Crystal, a long time Clippers fan, is joining Lawler as part of the celebration of his final season as the team’s play by play commentator. This won’t be his first foray into broadcasting though, having already been in the booth for the New York Yankees.

A game against the Lakers is always entertaining, but the addition of Crystal’s comedic antics will certainly make this one memorable. Crystal couldn’t have picked a better game to commentate, especially with all the news surrounding the Lakers. As mentioned above, LeBron James will likely making his return after suffering from a groin injury on Christmas Day. The Lakers also are heavily tied to Anthony Davis after he declared he wanted out of New Orleans.

Crystal will certainly be different from the group of color commentators we have had the pleasure of listening to this season. Corey Maggette, Ryan Hollins and Don MacLean have regularly joined Ralph this season in the booth, but there have been other special guests such as Dell Curry who took over a quarter and Mike Fratello.

It was announced to start the season that Lawler would have several guest analysts join him including the aforementioned group along with Bill Walton, Cheryl Miller and Hubie Brown.

Next. LeBron James may return versus the Clippers. dark

Tune in on Fox Sports West on Thursday night at 7:30 PM PST to hear Ralph and Billy as the Clippers take on the Lakers.
