Resolution 3: Re-sign Tobias

So this doesn’t completely fall in line with the last resolution, but as I stated, I don’t think the team gets both superstars.

Assuming they only get one, re-signing Tobias Harris is a must. The 26-year-old forward is having the best season of his career. But you know what? He’s been able to say that every single year he’s been in the league.

Averaging 21.0 points per game on 50.4% shooting, Harris looks to be a borderline All-Star this season and could easily be the second best player on a championship team.

Many fans and pundits will say that the Clips don’t have a star player this year, but Harris is making the argument that he already is one. He won the Western Conference Player of the Month award for his play to start the season in October and November.

As I said, every year has been his best with his points per game increasing each season while his field goal percentage has never been below 45.5%.

Having another elite player next to him could really open up his offensive game. He’s already been able to space the floor well with Gallinari, but imagine him alongside either KD or Kawhi. His size would also allow for him to play either forward position. Imagine a lineup with Harris and Leonard as the forwards with Gallinari at the center. Whew.

This resolution is the simplest of the three listed, but with Tobias already turning down an extension, it is not guaranteed.

If the Clippers can manage to accomplish all three resolutions in 2019 then the NBA will have a new championship contender on their hands.
