5.) Boban Marjanovic: A Movie Star
Basketball stars have played roles in American Cinema for years. Michael Jordan, Muggsy Bogues, Shawn Bradley, Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson, Larry Bird, and Patrick Ewing were all in Space Jam. LeBron James played a role in Trainwreck. Kyrie Irving starred in his own feature film, Uncle Drew in June of 2018 with Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Nate Robinson, Reggie Miller, and Lisa Leslie. Now, it’s our very own Boban Marjanovic’s time to shine. The Serbian big man is set to co-star in the third installment of the John Wick franchise. I’m sure that I’m not alone in looking forward to see Boban’s acting chops.
6.) First Picks
The first overall pick in a NBA Draft is one of the most prized possessions a team can have. It is looked at as the best chance to bring in a future star. Sometimes, the picks land, and you get a LeBron James or Hakeem Olajuwon. Other times, they fail, and end up being players like LaRue Martin or Anthony Bennett. The Clippers have owned three first overall picks in their history, in 1988, 1998, and 2009 where the took Danny Manning, Michael Olowokandi, and Blake Griffin respectively. These three aren’t the only players drafted first overall to play for LAC. They’ve had four other players drafted at the first space play for the team at some point in their career. They are Kenyon Martin, Elton Brand, Mark Aguirre, and Bill Walton. Martin and Aguirre had forgettable tenures as Clippers, but Walton and Brand were both stars and the best players during their time as Clippers.
