With reports coming out that LeBron James won’t consider the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency, we explain why we should just trust the front office.

LeBron James will never wear a LA Clippers uniform.”

These were the words echoed by Dave McMenamin of ESPN. For a while, many Clippers fans thought that we may have a shot at the biggest name of all the free agents this summer. Reportedly, Jerry West was brought in with getting LeBron in mind.

What’s not to like? We are a youth infused team with several great role players, have an amazing owner who is willing to spend and a front office that seems willing to do whatever it takes to put us into a winning situation. But, alas, we just aren’t as appealing as that other LA team. We would have to jump through some hoops to clear cap and the lack of a winning history may harm the franchise in the eyes of free agents. Whatever the reason, LeBron apparently doesn’t want to come here.

But that’s okay.

According to Elliot Teaford, a beat reporter for the team, there was never really any interest in bringing in James anyway.

Yes, this sounds like the ole “You’re not breaking up with me! I’m breaking up with you!” shtick, but I believe it.

If one thing has become apparent in the last year, it’s that the front office has a vision for the team. Jerry West came in and things began to change. We moved the face of the franchise. We bought into the draft and grabbed a duo of solid second rounders. We may move the last remaining part of Lob City. So, if someone says the team is going in a different direction, I’m inclined to believe they know exactly what they are doing.

There are a couple of options that the team will reportedly consider. We’ve covered possibly trading for Kawhi Leonard, although that looks more and more unlikely. We’ve also taken a look at our two draft picks and the plethora of players that we can select there. There’s also the possibility of moving up in the draft to snag someone like Michael Porter Jr or Luka Doncic.

Whatever the case may be, we need to trust our guys. Things have changed in the Los Angeles Clippers’ organization and so far, it seems to be for the better. The trio of Lawrence Frank, Jerry West and Michael Winger have something in mind. Let’s put our full trust in them and get excited for the team’s future.
