With both of their two-way contracts expired, the Los Angeles Clippers are still negotiating with Tyrone Wallace and C.J. Williams on possible new deals.
The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly still negotiating with both Tyrone Wallace and C.J. Williams. Both players were part of the team through two-way contracts, but their eligible time with the team has expired. The duo has reported back to the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario for the time being, with no deal immediately in sight.
There are rumors that the Clippers won’t reach a deal with Tyrone Wallace. Brad Turner of the LA Times reported that the team declined to convert Wallace’s deal for the rest of the year.
With neither side coming to an agreement, the Clips went out and signed Sean Kilpatrick to a 10-day contract. However, don’t count C.J. or Ty out just yet.
So, Doc Rivers says there is still a possibility. That’s good. While Kilpatrick isn’t the worst the team could do, both Wallace and Williams are familiar with the team and have already been big contributors to the Clippers this season.
Wallace would be more ideal to sign, as he is younger than C.J. and provides more upside. If the Clippers are to let him walk, expect several teams to make a run at him in the offseason.
On the year, Wallace is averaging 10.1 points on 46.1% shooting, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Williams put up 5.9 points on 44.8% shooting, 1.5 rebounds and 1 assist.
