C.J. Williams spoke to us about his time with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Last night C.J. Williams played in his final game under a 2 way contract for the LA Clippers. He’s played in 45 NBA games, hit game winners, and been an invaluable piece for the Clippers. The team would not be in the playoff race without him. I spoke to him post-game about what he’s learned in the NBA, and what advice he has for other G-League players.

"A lot of the difference between guys that are on the cusp and guys that are in the league, is just the level of confidence. Play hard, do everything they ask you to do, and play aggressive on both ends. There aren’t too many offensive guys on a 2 way. When you got a guy like Lou on your team that’s tell you to shoot the ball, you listen."

One thing to note about the success of both C.J. Williams and Tyrone Wallace is their aggressiveness. You can see the confidence in their shots, and the mindset of not deferring. While many people didn’t think much when the Clippers created a G-League team, you can see the results of it now. The team’s season has literally been saved due to the emergence of their G-League stars.

It’s still unknown what exactly is going to happen to both C.J. and Tyrone. The team has room to sign 1 player, and could bring both players after the G-League season is over. However, if you bring a G-League player back after the season ends, they will not be playoff eligible. It’ll be a very interesting situation to see and play out, mainly because nobody is that well versed in it.

Whatever happens, we’ll always remember C.J. Williams for this moment.

For those interested in what was going through his mind as he took the game winner, here’s an interview from that day.

Clipper Nation, show C.J. Williams some love on social media, he deserves it.
