Tonight, J.J. Redick will make his return to Los Angeles as the Philadelphia 76ers play the LA Clippers.

J.J. Redick will return to Staples Center tonight against his former team as the Philadelphia 76ers play the LA Clippers.

Redick was a member of the LA Clippers for 4 seasons and holds the franchise record for most three pointers made in a season at 201. (He also holds the second and third most, at 200 apiece). During his tenure, J.J. averaged 15.8 points per game on 46.6% shooting, including 44% from deep.

Needless to say, J.J. was a fan favorite. His limitless energy as he darted around screens on offense and his beautiful shots endeared him to all of us. It also didn’t help that he had a podcast which gave us all insight to everyday life in the NBA. (Speaking of, we’re still waiting for more episodes J.J.) You can check out some of his highlights as a Clippers’ player below.

This summer, fans knew that J.J.’s time with the team had come. With the Clippers’ future uncertain, Redick looked to get the most money he could in the free agency. The Philadelphia 76ers, who were in need of both a shooting guard and veteran leadership, grabbed up J.J. He signed just a one year deal, but will earn $23 million.

Be sure to cheer J.J. as he makes his trip back to Staples Center tonight. Although the team never found true success with him, he was a part of some of the best teams in franchise history and deserves some recognition. Thanks for everything J.J.!
