Austin Rivers questionable for Friday night’s game versus Thunder

Austin Rivers has been labeled as questionable ahead of tomorrow night’s game with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Clippers are literally adding insult to injury.

Per Broderick Turner of the LA Times, Austin Rivers has been labeled as questionable for tomorrow night’s game with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rivers reportedly suffered a left ankle sprain in practice. This comes just after Turner reported that Patrick Beverley will miss the next two games with a knee injury. And in case you missed it, Danilo Gallinari won’t play tomorrow night either.

This puts the Clippers in a much tighter spot than we had originally imagined, as they’ll be out another starter. LA’s backcourt production is going to be significantly lacking against Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. It’s easy to forget that Milos Teodosic is missing from the Clippers roster right now, due to a plantar fascia issue in his foot. Now that Rivers could potentially miss, LA will have to rely on the likes of Jawun Evans, Lou Williams, and the recently-brought-up C.J. Williams at the guard positions.

Naming the starters from 1-3 is anybody’s guess at this point. This means we could start to see Head Coach Doc Rivers get really creative with his rotations.

In terms of winning games, none of this can be seen as good news for the LA Clippers. They’ll enter Friday night’s contest as losers of 5 of their last 6 games, with a lone victory over the lowly Dallas Mavericks. On top of all that, their level of effort has been in question as well.

Hopefully Austin can suit up against the Thunder. Otherwise, it might be best to keep your TV tuned to something a little less frustrating tomorrow night.
