The news and rumors keep coming. Now, Ryan West, son of Jerry West, could reportedly possibly leave the Lakers and join the LA Clippers.
According to Broderick Turner of the LA Times, Ryan West, son of Jerry West, could be changing locker rooms. Currently, Ryan West is the director of player personnel for the Lakers.
"There is a strong chance that West’s son, Ryan West, who is the Lakers’ director of player personnel, will join the Clippers in some capacity, one executive said.More from ClipperholicsGrade the trade: Clippers shockingly land Trae Young in wild proposal3 of the most overpaid players on the LA Clippers’ rosterTrading for this player covers the Clippers’ biggest weaknessHow will the LA Clippers fare in the in-season tournament? Why the LA Clippers should steer clear of recent gold medalist waiver"
After the Lakers didn’t even consider re-hiring Jerry West, he turned his gaze elsewhere. Now, he will be a consultant for the Clips. The Clippers are about to enter one of the biggest offseasons in franchise history. The team hopes that bringing in Jerry West will help them make the necessary moves not to only keep Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, but to add the missing pieces to make a championship run.
Getting Ryan West to also join the team would mean less of a role for Doc Rivers, who is currently the President of Basketball Operations. Many fans and media member have questioned Doc’s ability to perform both that job and his as a head coach, so this would be a welcome addition.
The news of hiring Jerry came right on the heels of the announcement that the team is looking to build a stadium in Inglewood. Needless to say, owner Steve Ballmer is looking to shake things up with the team.
