While the LA Clippers were finishing up their 99-91 victory over the Utah Jazz, a fan was videoed chugging his beer out of a his shoe.

Well LA Clippers’ fans, we have a new type of fan. For those of you who missed it, here’s the video of the man chugging beer out of his shoe, courtesy of Bleacher Report:

You might be asking yourself, “Why? What possessed this man to dump beer in his shoe and then chug it?”

Well, we might have an answer.

According to this Wikipedia entry, this act is called a “shoey”.

"The “shoey” is a ritual popular in Australia where the drinker either removes their own shoe, or nominates a friend’s shoe to be used as the vessel. The shoe is tilted and the entire contents of a can of beer are poured into the shoe’s opening. Once the beverage has settled, the beer is drunk by tipping the shoe up to the mouth and chugging it."

The entry also goes on to say that the ritual gained fame in late 2015 and grew even more when an Australian rugby team’s fans started to do it during games. The team kept winning, so the tradition stuck around.

This isn’t the best look for the Clipper fan base, especially after Jazz fan, ZDOGG, accused us of being disgusting.

We have to do better than this Clippers Nation. How can we be taken seriously if we are drinking beer from our shoes?
