In constructing a title-caliber rotation, the LA Clippers were forced to trade away draft capital and young talents. Though it was unwanted, this was the quickest way to elevate their ceiling in what is viewed as the best Western Conference of all time.

When a rising star comes around, the Clippers need to hold onto what they have. The only issue is that head coach Tyronn has difficulty developing these players in-game as the minutes are tight between the stars and quality role players.

This made it hard for former Clippers Brandon Boston Jr. and Moussa Diabate to succeed in Lue's game plan. They are now on different teams, prospering towards a long-term home in the NBA.

Furthermore, the Clippers have been fortunate enough to roster several future stars who were second-round picks or undrafted free agents. These players spend time in the G-League, and when coaches confirm they are ready, their names are called up to the big stage.

The San Diego Clippers' best player, Trentyn Flowers, is one that Lue should ensure sticks around the longest. He is not in the conversation yet, but Flowers will be the outlier for Lue's staff when the occasion arises.

Trentyn Flowers is the next big name for the LA Clippers' future.

Undrafted 19-year-old phenom Trentyn Flowers is the guy Tyronn Lue should prioritize developing for the LA Clippers. His athleticism allows him to jump through the roof, finish at a high level, and create space, all attributes of star potential.

Flowers has averaged 21.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in the G-League, shooting 44.7% from the field on 15.8 attempts per game. Despite being a rookie, the former Adelaide 36er has made himself known as one of the best for the San Diego Clippers.

Flowers' resume also enlightens fans about his come-up, as he was a former five-star committed to the University of Louisville.

Regardless of what happens this offseason, Lue should provide Flowers with a bench role next season and observe his evolution. If serious growth in the active rotation occurs, his minutes will continue to increase.

Additionally, if Lawrence Frank lets go of his championship aspirations and transitions to a rebuild, Flowers, and talents like Jordan Miller should be the ones LA utilizes as their building blocks for the inevitable future.

Nonetheless, Flowers' name must be part of the team's long-term goals. His development is prominent, and the Clippers will likely re-sign him in the summer.
