Suns currently employ Clippers dream target, and his name is not Kevin Durant

In a 2K25 simulator, any fan playing the role of general manager for the LA Clippers would snag Kevin Durant from the trade market and insert him next to Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. These three would dominate the league in virtual reality, similar to what Durant and the Golden State Warriors did when their back-to-back championships were won.

Unfortunately, what works in the most prominent video game surrounding the sport of basketball does not usually work in real life. There are issues with chemistry, fit, and depth that teams must face; however, in the simulator, factors like fatigue and financial restrictions can be easily adjusted with the push of a button.

Moreover, the Phoenix Suns would most likely only deal Durant to Intuit Dome if Ivica Zubac and Norman Powell are sent in return. This would be bad news for the Clippers, mainly because of Zubac, as he is still getting better on an appealing contract of about $20 million annually.

Though the Clippers should dodge Durant’s name in trade calls, they can still work with Phoenix to land their premiere sharpshooter, Grayson Allen, who could be dumped this summer. He is much more worth chasing than the four-time scoring champion.

When the LA Clippers call the Phoenix Suns, it should be for Grayson Allen rather than Kevin Durant

Although the LA Clippers should steer clear of Kevin Durant trade packages, they can still phone the Phoenix Suns and ask for Grayson Allen, one of the best three-point shooters in the league. The Suns may cherish what he offers, but due to the second apron, he could be moved out.

This season, Allen showed up for 64 contests and recorded 10.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, shooting 44.8% from the field and 42.6% from three-point land(5.5 attempts).

However, Allen could be traded, as he has only played one season of his four-year contract. An expiring deal is what they need, and the Clippers have an identical producer, Bogdan Bogdanović, who could be on the last year of his term if his team option next summer is not exercised.

Allen may average fewer points than Bogdanović, but he is a better and more consistent option in the postseason. Jeff Van Gundy would also love his defense, as the former Duke Blue Devil would be utilized in many different lineups.

That said, Allen is a much more reasonable talent for the Clippers to inquire about with the Suns over Durant, as he is cheaper and helps LA without depleting their depth.
