Ryan Nembhard, a player the LA Clippers could’ve honestly taken a chance on at the end of the 2025 draft, was just traded for the second time in his career. The Charlotte Hornets acquired him, Buddy Hield, and cash considerations for Dorian Finney-Smith. He may not be in Charlotte for long, as speculation suggests they will move on from him to trim down their roster to what the league allows.
According to Marc Stein of “The Stein Line,” “he’ll have multiple suitors on potential two-ways if he is indeed waived.” Signing with the LA Clippers, though, over every other team interested, would be Nembhard’s best option, as he’ll have an easy pathway to securing legitimate minutes and ultimately finding a stable home in the NBA.
As of now, the Denver Nuggets are reportedly looking to bring him on after just signing Cam Whitmore, a former first-round pick, to a two-way.

After having a solid rookie season with the Dallas Mavericks, with averages of 6.6 points and 5.3 assists, it’s clear what Ryan Nembhard is capable of. He’s an excellent playmaker, can space the floor very well, and most importantly, has the potential to grow. Not to mention, he dropped 28 points at Denver last season and also recorded a near triple-double, with 23 assists, against the Chicago Bulls.
Nembhard simply needs a pathway to consistent minutes and a stable role.

To start the season, Bradley Beal will still be working his way toward 100% health, and Jordan Miller is out for a significant period with a torn rotator cuff.
That’s already a ton of opportunity, and beyond that, he could easily take over Gradey Dick’s spot in the rotation by proving his scoring and playmaking to be more valuable than what the former Toronto Raptor offers.
Would Nembhard need to have an excellent training camp? Yes. But if he wants to finally call a place home and contribute on a regular basis, LA is the place for him.
