NBA free agency is underway, and there have already been some notable developments for the LA Clippers. The Paul George situation is still yet to be ultimately resolved, but after he declined his player option on Saturday, he will officially enter free agency.

This takes all trade options off the table for the Clippers. George will either be re-signing with the Clippers or be taking his talents elsewhere while his former team gets nothing in return. Then, on Sunday afternoon, word of James Harden's extension was officially announced, as he re-joins the Clippers on a two-year, $70 million deal.

With Kawhi Leonard already having agreed to an extension, that leaves one marquee name in LA with his future still up in the air: Russell Westbrook. The former MVP opted into his $4 million player option on Saturday, but a new detail to his situation has emerged. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Westbrook and the Denver Nuggets have mutual interest.

It was reported by Chris Haynes that the Clippers and Westbrook are working together "to find a trade partner that works for both sides," with it being assumed that his last game in a Clipper uniform is already in the past. On top of that, the Nuggets rumor makes it appear as though something could be brewing there already.

It is no secret that Westbrook is close to the twilight of his career at this point. Since he is not as effective from an overall standpoint as he once was, playing alongside an all-world talent the likes of Nikola Jokic would make a lot of sense. Russ would be in perfect position to play more off-ball and fly around to catch lobs from the Joker.

The gears may be turning for Westbrook and his next team already, so we should expect to see more news concerning his future in the coming days.
