The start of training camp is just a few days out for the LA Clippers, and the team will be traveling to beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii for their annual preseason tune-up. When they do, they will officially have one important item of business taken care of: coming to an extension agreement with Terance Mann.

Shams Charania reported on Friday afternoon that the Clippers have officially agreed to a three-year, $47 million extension with Mann. This is a fully guaranteed deal that will keep him on board in Los Angeles through the end of the 2027-28 NBA season.

Terance remains under contract for the upcoming season, with his new extension set to kick in during the 2025 offseason. According to salary cap expert Bobby Marks, the first year of Mann's extension will begin at $15.5 million.

This is massive news for the Clippers, who just worked out an extension with Ivica Zubac earlier this month. Now, they will have two of their best and longest-tenured players secured long-term under new deals.

Looking at the price tag, this is a very reasonable deal for a player as valuable as Terance. In the current landscape where many contracts are inflated, paying $47 million to a high-level role player who has proven his worth time and again should be considered a very solid business transaction.

Mann etched his name into the hearts of Clippers fans years ago. No one will ever forget his 39-point game to close out the Utah Jazz in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals in 2021. Since then, he has been ultra-consistent while remaining available. Terance has played in 80 or more games in two of the last three seasons, passing the 70 games played mark in all three.

This news is a big relief for Clippers fans concerned that the team might lose him in free agency next summer. Now, with this out of the way, the team can purely focus on building chemistry and getting better as a unit during their time in Hawaii.
