Development wins are always some of the biggest wins in the NBA. Selecting a guy later in the draft and seeing him grow into an eventual rotation player is one of the best feelings for a front office, a fanbase, and of course the player too. The story is no different for the LA Clippers.
Management has taken a chance on several under-appreciated talents in the last several seasons, with the most recent being Cam Christie in the 2024 draft. But Clippers fans recently got great news concerning another second-round pick, Jordan Miller.
Selected by LA in the second round of the 2023 draft, Miller was a University of Miami product with raw but legitimate talent. After impressive in the Las Vegas Summer League, it appears Miller is on his way to potentially becoming a legitimate part of the Clippers' rotation. Shams Charania reported on Wednesday that Jordan is "probably is going to be in line very soon for a full NBA contract."
Miller is likely "in line" for a full NBA contract
For a player currently operating on a two-way contract, this is of course massive news. Miller has been staying in the gym and doing his best to improve his game, finally getting a prime opportunity to show off his progress at Summer League. Now, he could be close to being rewarded for his hard work.
This is also great news for the Clippers' coaching staff. The team is still in need of more rotation-level wing players, and Jordan's expected graduation from the part-time player club to the full-time player club could give this team a depth boost as well.
