If you're a younger LA Clippers fan, congratulations. Life has been a breeze. From Lob City to date, the Clippers have been putting together rosters with (at least some) hope of winning an NBA championship.

If you're an older LA Clippers fan: congratulations. You're a testament to the human will. You've walked through fire and brimstone. Whatever happens to this organization next, it won't be as ugly as what you've seen.

After all, the Clippers were the NBA's laughingstock for decades. They were the perennial butt end of a stale joke. For those readers who don't remember - with apologies to those who'd like to forget - let's revisit some of that gruesome history.

People who turned their back on the Los Angeles Clippers

Clipper Darrell

We thought we'd start on a lighter note - after all, it's only going to get darker. Clipper Darrell has been an LA Clippers' superfan since the 2000-01 season. For what it's worth, he's still a mainstay at the Cryto.com arena.

At one time, his status with the team was in jeopardy. In 2012, there was a bitter legal battle over whether Darrell was entitled to use the Clippers' moniker. Did Darrell turn his back on the Clippers, or did the Clippers turn their backs on Darrell?

Who cares? It's all water under the 6th Street Viaduct by now. We're mostly joking by including Darrell on this list. Be warned - everything from here on out will be dead serious.
