1. Trendon Watford
The Clippers are the oldest team in the NBA. Perhaps they were never going to sign the 22-year-old Watford on a one-year prove-it deal. In hindsight, it's something they should have considered.
Watford is the worst shooter we've named here. He's hitting 35.7% of his 0.9 threes per game in 2023-24. He doesn't get on the floor very often for the floundering Brooklyn Nets, either.
Counterargument: So what? Watford is making just over $2 million this year. His contract will expire at the end of the season. He's a versatile defender who can guard across positions and offers enough rim protection to play the 5.
At the end of the day, none of these players will have made or broken the Clippers' season. Their fortunes depend on the health of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, and Westbrook. Still, any one of these guys would have made their lives a little bit easier:
In hindsight, that is.
