Throughout every second of every game, on the bench or hardwood, eyes will be on the future Hall-of-Fame point guard, Chris Paul. He has had one of the best careers for a point guard in this generation, and because of how he has defied the odds on teams in the Western Conference, fans across different fanbases could buy tickets to show support and respect before his jersey is hung up.

Furthermore, with the latest release of the schedule for the 2025-26 regular season, fans of the LA Clippers have the information they need to plan, take the exact days off, and suit up in their new and old-fashioned jerseys of Paul to witness one of the more historic seasons in franchise history.

Paul's first home game of next season will be like the first day of school, as the Intuit Dome is almost guaranteed to be a sellout, and the organization may also do something special for the fans in attendance, such as offering graphic T-shirts featuring the iconic point guard or bobbleheads.

However, when examining where Paul's 21st year will end, it is clear that the league missed a phenomenal opportunity to capitalize on the final regular-season game of his career.

Instead of concluding Chris Paul's career where it all started, he will finish his last game against the Golden State Warriors

Had Chris Paul stayed with the San Antonio Spurs or joined the team that many assume came in second place in his offseason sweepstakes, the Phoenix Suns, the NBA may have considered the LA Clippers and placed game 82 of his 21st season under Intuit Dome.

This would have been the best decision all around, as Paul would have cherished the fans, and the Clippers' fan base would have felt lucky that his last regular-season minutes would be spent in LA.

Conversely, Paul joined the Clippers, and within the recent schedule release, the NBA should have scheduled LA's season-closure against the New Orleans Pelicans, where the 12-time All-Star was drafted fourth in 2005 by the New Orleans Hornets.

Fans of the Pelicans still have love for Paul, and there would have been no better way to wrap up the greatness he has produced than to conclude his career where it began, in the exciting streets of New Orleans.

Nonetheless, the NBA has the Clippers closing the year against the Golden State Warriors, which will still be a game of entertainment and emotion for fans worldwide, for the second consecutive season.
