Picking the right free-agent destination can be an extremely tough, life-altering decision for an NBA player. They have to factor in the money they are being paid, the environment they will live in, how long they will be under contract, and most importantly, how close they will be to their families.

Current LA Clipper and former MVP James Harden knows a thing or two about playing at home, close to family, as his native Los Angeles roots were important in his decision to sign a two-year, $70 million contract on July 9th of last summer. This could also be one of the main reasons why he stays a Clipper for as long as he can.

Moreover, another veteran guard who has publicly spoken about playing within the vicinity of his family is Chris Paul. He has played in seven different arenas, and at 40 years of age, this will be crucial for him this summer as he aims to do two things: be there for his loved ones and continue playing the game he is passionate about.

That said, Paul joined 'The Pat McAfee Show' and revealed offseason-changing news for the Clippers, which is sentimental considering his past.

Chris Paul indirectly narrowed down his two preferred destinations, and the signs are pointing towards a reunion with the LA Clippers

On 'The Pat McAfee Show,' Chris Paul was ultimately asked where his head lies ahead of the offseason, which will consist of a change in playing city. Paul could have answered with prominence in winning a championship or attaining the most money, but he mentioned his family over everything.

He did not directly state the LA Clippers were his next stop, but it is known that Paul's family resides in Los Angeles. He has a 16-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter, so spending as much time with them as they grow up is something the iconic point guard would like to do while he still has the stamina and endurance to perform professionally.

Although two teams are in Los Angeles, the Clippers make more sense, given the ties he has to the organization. He played 409 games for LA and could add more if he signs on the mid-level exception.

Paul would be the perfect backup guard to have behind James Harden, as they are both elite playmakers. LA would not suffer a loss in pace with Harden on the bench, and Paul subbed in.
