At the pinnacle of his career, and the moments fans of the Memphis Grizzlies often reminisce about, Ja Morant, a multi-time All-Star, was a top-three point guard in the NBA and the face of a second-seeded franchise. Years later, during the 2025-26 season, Morant appears to be the next superstar to switch cities, and NBA analyst Yossi Gozlan recently proposed sending him to the LA Clippers.
Gozlan, whose primary focus is salary cap, has the Clippers receiving Morant, and John Konchar, for John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and a 2030 first-round pick.
With this trade, the Clippers would have the best backcourt in the NBA, still roster Kawhi Leonard for championship contention, and have a dependable future, which is a staple that can be built around.
Thus, if the Clippers had this Morant-centered offer on the table, Lawrence Frank would say yes as fast as he possibly could.
If interested, the LA Clippers' chances of acquiring Ja Morant would be surprisingly high
As he was recently suspended and showed, in a post-game press conference, by his facial expressions, that he is unhappy with the Memphis Grizzlies, it will be a fair game between the LA Clippers and anyone else interested in trading for the former second overall pick.
Additionally, Tim MacMahon, an NBA expert for ESPN, recently mentioned that the market may be tight and narrow for Morant. This ultimately hints that not many teams will be calling the Grizzlies to work out a trade.
Furthermore, if the Clippers think highly of Morant, then they will have a lot of leverage. In the end, John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and a future first-round pick could be convincing enough for Memphis' front office.
This season, Morant is averaging 20.4 points, 7.1 assists, and 3.6 rebounds, shooting 39.3% from the field and 13.9% from beyond the arc.
Morant is usually scoring a bit more, on much better shooting splits, so these numbers speak volumes in how he does not feel like Memphis is the best place for him in his seventh season, with the Grizzlies possibly feeling the exact same way.
That said, Morant would be the Clippers' star now and for the future. He is already established and would dominate in LA, and with Collins' contract expiring and Bogdanovic disappointing heavily, Lawrence Frank would have no excuse to second-guess Yossi Gozlan's hypothetical offer from the latest episode of his podcast, "Third Apron."
