With a losing percentage of below 25%, 23.8 to be exact, the player who should have had the most frustration, and did, was Chris Paul. However, a longtime competitor of Paul's and an icon for both teams in Los Angeles, Lou Williams, revealed on FanDuel TV's "Run It Back" hours after Paul was sent home on a road trip that the 12-time All-Star was in the locker room, holding his teammates and coaches accountable. They did not take the constructive criticism with a positive mindset.
"CP3 was holding players and coaches accountable... he was critical of the front office... that was the straw that broke the camel's back."

Oftentimes, when the league is shaken with surprising news, it can take several days for the story to make perfect sense. But, Chris Haynes and Shams Charania, two close-to-the-game insiders, quickly discovered crucial details on Paul's ending days with the Clippers that supported Williams', demonstrating that the problem was LA's front office, never the fan favorite.
Chris Paul was dismissed for doing right
According to Shams Charania, Chris Paul and Tyronn Lue had been experiencing conflicts and were giving each other the silent treatment. If their disagreement had just existed for one game, and then they made up, a major deal about their difference in opinion would not have been brought about.
Chris Paul and his leadership style clashed with the Clippers, sources tell ESPN. Paul has been vocal in holding management, coaches and players accountable, which the team felt became disruptive. Specifically: Ty Lue was not on speaking terms with Paul for several weeks.

But Charania reported that their issues went on for weeks. Chris Haynes followed up with more insight, noting that Paul initiated a meeting to sort everything out, while Lue refused.Â
Sources: Weeks ago Chris Paul requested to have a meeting with Tyronn Lue to discuss allegations of being a negative presence on team. Lue refused to meet with him. Lawrence Frank traveled to Atlanta to deliver news of parting ways. Paul desired final season to be with Clippers.

This is likely when Lawrence Frank was forced to step in and intervene, hearing both sides, sticking with Lue, and informing Paul that he had to go home and stay until a solution came to light.
Moreover, Paul may have a strong, bold personality that is always felt when he is around, yet that is what the Clippers signed up for. He knows better than anyone on the roster what it is like to be on both sides of the core concept of accountability, and he used it for the team's best interest.
Thus, it is unjust that his role evaporated into thin air because he did not want to retire ringless. This is his last season, and he was essentially blamed for enforcing a wake-up call.
Additionally, the DNPs that Paul has on his game log could have been due to his clash with Lue.Â
That said, the truth is on display for the world to see. Paul was clearly in the right, and because of Frank's poor situational management, the Clippers are without another guard in their rotation.
