When the front office of an organization hits the reset button and changes leadership, the direction and perception of each player are also prone to switch routes. The LA Clippers have not necessarily experienced such a sequence in recent memory, but they currently have a close look at the Sacramento Kings, who have recently made adjustments with a new head coach and general manager.

Furthermore, Doug Christie, the former interim head coach who took over after Mike Brown’s duties were relieved, was named as the next full-time moving forward. Similarly, Monte McNair, who the Clippers recently hired, was fired by Sacramento and replaced by Scott Perry.

As a result, Perry may have a different vision for the team, which may require moving certain players in his first summer with the team. Players like Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis may be the hardest to trade for, but everyone else could be on the trade block if the outcome for the Kings is an improvement.

DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine are the two biggest names that could be dealt, but levels below is an underrated and unproven point guard in Devin Carter, who was recently reported to be on the Kings’ trade block. This is news for LA, as he could become the next best-kept secret under Tyronn Lue if acquired.

Reports say Devin Carter is available this summer, and if they are correct, the LA Clippers must deliver a win-win proposal

Although the Sacramento Kings drafted Devin Carter in the lottery a year ago, their front office could look to upgrade to a player they believe is more valuable. This is questionable for Kings fans, as he has not been given the appropriate amount of time for Sacramento’s executives to already give up.

Moreover, Carter was hurt last season, playing only 36 games, and he averaged just 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds. However, he turned 23 in March and has the potential to become a solid point guard with the proper development and coaching.

Michael Scotto released the news that he is on the block, and although no specific teams have reportedly shown interest, the Clippers could send their 30th pick this summer, which the Kings could already be interested in, as well as Kris Dunn.

This deal sends an all-defensive guard to Sac Town, which is something they could use in their starting backcourt. On the flip side, the Clippers would benefit if Carter pans out as hoped for, as he could be a key piece of the future.
