With how everything panned out for Bogdan Bogdanovic last season, it’s fairly clear he’s done as a member of the LA Clippers. However, the front office doesn’t plan to simply decline his team option and make him a free agent. Instead, they are actively looking for a trade, as his option deadline was mutually extended, which was reported by Jake Fischer of ‘The Stein Line’. It was added that discussions will continue in the coming days.

As a result, the message that’s ultimately sent to Bogdanovic is to quickly pack his bags. It’s not clear where he may be headed, so his best bet is to keep his belongings ready to go to whatever team shows the most interest.

The Clippers need to take the best available offer. The deal could be anything reasonable, but as long as he’s moved, it'll be considered a win at the end of the day.

Bogdan Bogdanovic is talented enough to be good somewhere else

With the addition of a guard in Keaton Wagler through the draft, likely another via trade/free agency, and the possible re-signing of Bennedict Mathurin, there’s no space for Bogdan Bogdanovic on the LA Clippers' current roster.

All the veteran truly offers is floor spacing, rim pressure, and locker-room leadership; unfortunately for him, these are characteristics the Clippers have in abundance, making his $16 million salary senseless to retain.

However, just because the Clippers don’t need him doesn’t cement the fact that he’s not a championship-level player.

Just over a year ago, Bogdanovic averaged double figures on the Clippers for 30 games. And, on top of that, he drilled some needed shots against the Denver Nuggets in the postseason that won’t be forgotten, despite the loss.

That said, across the league, a number of contenders could use his offensive prowess, particularly off the bench; he’s the ideal sixth man, even at the age of 33.

Specifically, a team like the Denver Nuggets should be in the hunt.

There’s a chance they may lose a ton of production in Cam Johnson and Peyton Watson, which will, one way or another, create a vacant role in the roster.

In addition, Bogdanovic will be on an expiring contract. This signals the idea that there is nothing to lose in trading for him, as the Nuggets, or any other team, could just let him walk with no strings attached next summer.
