All Clippers fans can do is laugh at who the Warriors added at center

The LA Clippers were among the most privileged teams of their rivals to add a center right when free agency began. They started off strong with Brook Lopez, and then the Los Angeles Lakers added DeAndre Ayton.

Of course, the Clippers believe they made the better addition over the Lakers with Lopez, someone Los Angeles had targeted. Nonetheless, both fan bases knew their favorite team was ahead of the Golden State Warriors, who were trying their best to stay patient with Jonathan Kuminga.

Time was running out, and the days for training camp and media day were around the corner. Yet, the Warriors had still not added a legitimate center with Quinten Post. That ultimately changed, and their decision will lead to pure laughter within Clipper Nation.

The Golden State Warriors made a massive mistake in adding Al Horford

Al Horford going to the Golden State Warriors was inevitable. Everyone knew he was done with the Boston Celtics, as their title chances dropped with Jayson Tatum’s devastating Achilles injury. Because Horford still wants to have a contributing role, the best duo on the market to join was Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

Furthermore, Warriors’ fans are excited that a championship center, who won in 2024 and made 15 postseason starts, wanted to spend one of his last seasons in the league in the Bay.

This speaks volumes, showing that Horford is clearly confident in Curry leading Golden State’s odds to win a ring. In fact, reports indicate that the five-time All-Star is signing a multi-year deal.

Conversely, Golden State is overlooking the obvious within the signing, and that is Horford’s age. If he were on a one-year deal, the Warriors’ front office could easily manage if he did not produce. However, over multiple seasons, Steve Kerr is likely to experience a decline as he turns 39 next June.

Moreover, the Warriors lost their franchise legend, Kevon Looney, to the New Orleans Pelicans this summer, as he is reunited with Jordan Poole. This means Kerr will have Horford starting, which is the second mistake that will have been made, following the first being signing him in the first place.

That said, the Clippers are not worried about Golden State’s addition of Horford, even though LA plays them four times next season. This is due to the fact that he is 38 and peaked years ago, showing there is no reason to be scared.
