In most cases, one would expect a franchise leader in assists, who is also second in assists and near the top in several other categories, to be anywhere between upset, frustrated, and disappointed when the team he became a legend for has its season cut short. This is natural, and it’s a sign of support at the end of the day.
Well, that’s not the deal with Chris Paul and the LA Clippers. Right after the Clippers lost the nine-ten Play-In Tournament game to the Golden State Warriors, Paul immediately hopped on Instagram and posted a clapback that clowned his former team, setting a brand-new rock bottom for the organization.

This was highlighted by Zach Lowe on ‘The Zach Lowe Show,’ and it pains Clippers fans to see the player they once backed up through thick and thin, and got emotional when he returned for a second stint, turn against the franchise.
Chris Paul’s troll is the result of his failing to accept the truth
Even after being sent home, Chris Paul still had millions of fans of the LA Clippers rallying behind him. Clipper Nation was certainly on his side, as everyone wanted to see one last, bright, and successful hoo-rah before he entered the inevitable retirement.
That’s certainly not the case anymore; it’s extremely challenging to embrace Paul in any shape or form at this point, despite everything he did over the last decade and a half, considering his reaction after the Clippers’ most heartbreaking moment of the season.
In all honesty, though, Paul likely had this planned as long as the Clippers didn’t make a deep playoff run. Why is that so? Well, he still feels some type of way about the front office seeing him as the problem, sending him home, then flipping chapters at the deadline.
The harder part that Paul may still not accept is that the Clippers were better off without him. They certainly didn’t need his on-court production, as the 12-time All-Star was nothing short of a liability.
But, on top of that, it can’t be a coincidence that LA turned their season around completely within a couple of weeks after his exit. In fact, the Clippers memorable winning streak began on Dec. 20th versus the Los Angeles Lakers, and the news broke that Paul’s time in LA was done on Dec. 3rd.
That said, it’s a sad sight to see, and it shows precisely where the Clippers’ organization truly stands.
