In the NBA, MVPs and championships make a player great, but one is only considered legendary once their name is announced into the Hall of Fame ceremony. This is the ultimate spotlight, and it is certainly a different feeling once photos are captured in the iconic Hall of Fame jackets.

This September, NBA legends Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard were inducted. Both played in the league for a very long time, and stacked up on accomplishments that made their case for the prestigious honor distinct.

The most recent LA Clipper to be introduced was Chauncey Billups, who spent two of his last three seasons in Los Angeles. He was also an assistant on Tyronn Lue’s staff in 2020-21, where the team made a run with Paul George to the Western Conference Finals.

It will be a bit of a wait before the Clippers see another former player in the Hall of Fame books, but the next one could be a legend, and his case is undeniable.

Blake Griffin had several can’t-miss highlights for the LA Clippers

The Syracuse product, iconic Denver Nugget, and mid-range master, Carmelo Anthony, did not win a championship or MVP in his career. Yet, he was at the helm of one of the most memorable eras for fans of the New York Knicks.

Moreover, the Hall of Fame is also about telling stories, and Knicks fans could go on endlessly about how iconic Anthony’s scoring was. The same fans would describe him as unstoppable, and they are right, as he won a scoring title in 2012-13.

In the exact same way, Clippers fans could go off on a tangent about Griffin. Just like Anthony, he does not have rings or MVPs, but he has some of the most incredible highlights that, if they were re-watched today, many would still be shocked at how the Oklahoma product was tearing the NBA apart.

Furthermore, the Knicks had their era with Anthony, and the Clippers had theirs with Griffin, known to everyone as ‘Lob City’. There is simply no way that time period can be mentioned without his name, especially because his playstyle is why the chapter is referred to as it is.

That said, Clippers fans have a crack-proof perception of Griffin’s argument for the rare honor, which would have been stronger had he experienced fewer injuries. Yet, his dunks and overall highlights make it clear he deserves his name in the records soon.
