After losing in the first round to the Phoenix Suns, one of the top priorities for the LA Clippers is to add another star to the current roster. Though players like Russell Westbrook and Norman Powell may be able to play at a high level, the postseason made it clear that the Clippers will need another elite talent to make it all the way.
Furthermore, one of the best players available who might be on the move is the reigning MVP, Joel Embiid. As the 76ers ended their playoff run in another embarrassing manner, their front office may decide to replace their franchise player.
Fortunately for LA, the asking price may be easily accessible. The question is, how much are the Clippers willing to give up for a player of Embiid’s caliber?
1 Too little package for Embiid
If the 76ers want to replace Joel Embiid with some of the league’s best role players, the LA Clippers are the perfect match. Not only does LA have talent throughout their roster, but they also have several veterans who can help guide Philly to the NBA Finals.
For the Clippers, they would be able to retain their core of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George while also adding one of the best players in the world. This is as good as it gets for both teams involved.
Moreover, this trade has LA receiving Joel Embiid for Norman Powell, Terance Mann, Bones Hyland, and Marcus Morris Sr. While this may not seem enough for Embiid, Philly will finally have a valid supporting cast around their stars. This is something they have not had in years.
