No. 1 key to Terance Mann’s development for the LA Clippers: Have him play full-court defense

Remember when the LA Clippers were getting smoked in the beginning of our playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks, and Terance Mann kept breathing life into the team?

Like I said, he has a lot of energy and a lot of spring in his legs. He plays like he never gets tired, and it seems like that’s probably true. In that Mavericks series, there were times where he wreaked a little havoc on the Mavs backcourt when he picked them up on the inbound.

Now without Patrick Beverley, the Clippers need someone else to step up and be able to pick their man up full court.

I think Mann can be that guy. Again, he always seems to be able to provide a spark for this team, and oftentimes it’s on defense. I’d love to see Lue give him the freedom to get into the backcourt and defend as aggressively as he pleases.

Mann has so much to give this game, and has the chance to really make it all happen as early as this upcoming season. If the Clippers put him in the right situation, he’ll be achieving that potential this season.
