No. 1 free agent that the LA Clippers missed out on: DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan is the free agent that could have made the biggest difference for the LA Clippers.

DeRozan was reportedly planning to meet with the Clippers, but ended up signing with the Chicago Bulls.

DeRozan would have been big for the Clips, as he was the best free agent option to fill in for Kawhi while he’s injured.

DeRozan is a good defender who can guard the shooting guard and both forward positions. He has a deadly midrange game and would make the Clippers instant Western Conference title favorites if he were with the Clips.

The two-time All-NBA player is very well-rounded; averaging 22.8 points per game, 4.9 assists per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 1.1 steals per game since his first of four All-Star seasons in 2013-2014.

All in all, however, it’s his loss. The Clippers will be competing for a championship next year, and the Bulls will be nowhere close. He said he wanted to compete for a championship, and won’t now.

The Clips can still win a championship without all of these guys. I trust the Clippers’ front office to work with what they have and progress next year.
