DeMarcus Cousins was a cheap signing this year for the LA Clippers.

When he first came to the Clippers, he was put on a cheap, 10-day contract, and then another one when it expired. He ended up signing with the team for the rest of the year when that contract was up, and if the Clippers can sign him to a veteran minimum deal, they should get it done.

The former top five overall pick is only 30 years old, and made the Clippers better last year.

No. 3 reason the LA Clippers should re-sign DeMarcus Cousins: Position scarcity

The LA Clippers should re-sign DeMarcus Cousins due to the fact that they have very little depth at center.

The only center signed through next year is Ivica Zubac, as Serge Ibaka has a player option he can turn down if he wants to.

I think Ibaka will be back, but even if he is, there aren’t a lot of good centers available via free agency this year. The Clips will need to roster more than two centers, and if there aren’t many good options out there, they should go with the guy who already developed some chemistry with the team.

Also, Zubac is one of few players that the Clippers are likely willing to trade this offseason. Having Cousins would make the Clips more willing to make trades if they get the right offer.
