Before Patrick Beverley was playing with great basketball players on the LA Clippers, he was lacing up with a lot of other great players on the Houston Rockets.

While the Clippers haven’t tipped their hand all too much when it comes to free agency this year, there are a few of Bev’s former Rockets teammates that are available and could be of use to next year’s Clippers team.

These guys may be past their primes, but they can still provide and produce for the Clippers next year on contracts that will likely be inexpensive.

No. 3 former Patrick Beverley teammate for the LA Clippers to consider signing: Trevor Ariza

Trevor Ariza would fit the type of offense that the LA Clippers often run, with or without Patrick Beverley in the lineup with him.

The Clippers like to go with smaller lineups more frequently than many other teams. Ariza did really well in Houston’s D’Antoni-run offense, which has thrived throughout D’Antoni’s career with small lineups more frequently as well.

The Clippers like forwards that can shoot the ball and are versatile offensively, and that’s what Ariza is. The 17-year vet has a 35.2% career shooting percentage from deep. If Kawhi Leonard is out for most of next year, the Clippers may want to add a veteran presence at the small forward position.

Ariza, a former NBA Champion, could be a nice option.
