The LA Clippers offseason is really going to kick in gear soon, starting with the NBA Draft on Thursday.

Speaking of the draft, it seems as if the LA Clippers are going to be targeting a guard. It makes sense, as there’s some uncertainty surrounding Kawhi Leonard’s health, along with him potentially opting out of his contract.

Some potential guys the internet seems to speculate the Clips taking are Cameron Thomas, and Rokas Jokubaitis.

Recently, Chris Paul took another tough postseason loss. This one came in the NBA Finals, and folks online are of course debating his legacy and how this Finals loss affected that legacy.

While Paul seems to have a tough time getting over the hump, there’s no doubt that he makes every team he goes to better, and that was certainly the case with our Clippers.

And, of course, it’s trade rumors season. Some Clippers being speculated to be traded are Ivica Zubac, Patrick Beverley, Luke Kennard, and Marcus Morris.

Chris Paul’s legacy is about more than championships and rings [The Step Back-Paul Centaponi]

"He gave the Clippers legitimacy for the first time in their non-storied history. They went 32-50 and missed the playoffs for the 13th time in 14 seasons, then locked in the No. 5 seed after forming Lob City and turned into a perennial postseason fixture."

NBA Mock Draft 8.0: Warriors trade for Ben Simmons; Jalen Green rises to No. 1 [Sir Charles In Charge – Michael Saenz]

"The LA Clippers might make the NBA Finals if it wasn’t for a freak injury to Kawhi Leonard. Nevertheless, this is a team that could be a move or two away from winning a championship. One fit for the Clippers is Cameron Thomas.Thomas is an interesting offensive player that could grow into a role for the Clippers off the bench. He’ll need some time to develop but the Clippers would be a good landing spot for him."

The latest mock drafts have the Clippers adding to their backcourt [SB Nation – Sabreena Merchant]

"The fit: The Clippers love toughness and are competing for a title. They could use a young player who can step in and contribute sooner rather than later. But it’s hard to find that later in the draft, and one avenue open to them given their current contract situation could be to stash a player they like overseas for another year to try to re-shape their roster for this season. Another name I’ve gotten that the Clippers like is Jason Preston out of Ohio, although I’m unclear that they would like him enough to entertain him at No. 25."

Teenager Who Outshined Ball Brothers Pegged as Clippers 1st-Round Pick [Heavy. – Bryan Starr]

"In watching Jokubaitis’s highlights, NBA guard Goran Dragic comes to mind — both players employing a left-hand dominant herky-jerky style of ballhandling that mitigates their lack of explosiveness by keeping scrambling defenders off-balance long enough to pick a point of attack or find an open cutter."

The Clippers offseason is going to be great, and the draft can’t come sooner.
