No. 3 free agent that would get the LA Clippers to the NBA Finals: Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose may not be the MVP he once was, but he can still play high-level basketball for the LA Clippers if they can’t bring back Reggie Jackson.
Jackson definitely seems interested in returning to the Clippers, but the money situation makes things complicated.
Jackson played himself into a much bigger contract next year due to his electric performance in the postseason.
The Clippers are already over the cap, and might not be able to afford him for what other teams potentially could.
One of the top options for the Clippers to sign if Jackson is too expensive would be Rose, who proved in the postseason that he can be effective in big minutes if needed.
Averaging 19.4 points per game this year in the playoffs, Rose also shot 47.1% from three-point land. He shot 47.6% from the field, and didn’t miss a single free throw he took.
He dished out five assists, and would be a very nice get for the Clippers if they can’t bring back the fan-favorite Jackson.
He made $7.5 million this year, and while he may want a bit more than that number for next year, he’s only getting older and hasn’t averaged 30+ minutes in a season since the 2016-17 year. He may not be able to cash in on a deal worth a ton more than that 7.5 mill.
All of these players would provide legitimate impacts on this Clipper roster, and would push them over the top and win the Western Conference.
