The Clippers ended up taking the loss in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals Wednesday night, but Reggie Jackson took far from a loss when it comes to how this season went for the veteran guard.

The former first round draft pick out of Boston College earned the nickname ‘Mr. June’ for his dominant postseason play this year. Averaging 17.8 points per game (postseason career-high), shooting 48.4% from the field (postseason career-high), and shooting 40.8% from three in this year’s playoffs, Jackson brought his game to the next level for these Clippers.

It wasn’t even just the numbers that Reggie Jackson brought the Clippers, but hope and timely playmaking throughout the three series that saved the team. It wasn’t just Reggie Jackson that saved the Clippers, however. It worked the other way around too.

Reggie Jackson credited the Clippers for “saving” him after the Game 6 loss in the Western Conference Finals.

An emotional Reggie Jackson spoke about what the Clippers mean to him, especially at this point in his career.

What a great teammate. Jackson immediately thanked his teammates, the organization, and the fans for what they meant to him and how they helped him in what was supposed to be a tough spot in his career.

The ten-year vet was acquired as a buyout signing for the Clippers at the trade deadline in 2020.

The expectations weren’t high for him, as he hadn’t played many games for the Pistons that season.

He started very few games for the Clippers in 2020, but came alive as a consistent starter in the postseason, and did a tremendous job holding down the fort for an injury-ravaged roster.

He was so impressive this postseason that he will surely be receiving a big paycheck this offseason as a free agent. Hopefully it will be by the Clippers. While it all depends on the money first and foremost, Jackson clearly loves the Clippers organization.

The two sides evidently have a great relationship and it would be a win for both parties if Jackson were able to come back.
