LA Clippers: Reggie Jackson Preview – Things to Do Differently
As I was writing this, I realized more and more that I don’t think last season’s performance wasn’t completely Reggie’s fault. As we saw, Doc was a little inclined to keep playing guys that didn’t necessarily belong on the court at certain times.
This isn’t to say that Reggie needs to hold himself accountable but I do think that Ty will use him in a more efficient way.
It all comes down to a simple thing – understanding his role.
That seems pretty simple as far as doing something different this year, right? The coaching staff likely has gone over this with him. As I mentioned several times, if Reggie can just recognize what he can do to help this team and also the things that he does that can hurt this team, he will be fine.
Honestly depending on how he plays this season, he could earn himself one more “payday” a la Rajon Rondo with the Lakers this past season. That should be incentive enough.

The backup point guard position won’t be a super material thing barring injury. Jackson can be a spark off the bench with a deep second unit for the LA Clippers. Let’s hope he knows his role.
