The LA Clippers have Patrick Beverley, Ivica Zubac, and Landry Shamet in the bubble.
Fear not Clipper Nation! The team is slowly coming back together. The LA Clippers now have Patrick Beverley, Ivica Zubac, and Landry Shamet all in the bubble, undergoing their mandatory quarantine period.
Beverley came down to Orlando with the team originally to start the mini training camp but was forced to leave due to a personal emergency which ended up being the passing of a close friend.
On Sunday it was reported by multiple sources that he was back in Orlando with the team.
The other two players, Ivica Zubac and Landry Shamet, had not been in the bubble in Orlando and recently individually posted pictures on their Instagram story confirming they had arrived.
Shamet was the lone player on the roster to show a positive COVID-19 test before departure and was required to self isolate until he had a negative test. Zubac has not yet given a reason for his absence.
None of the three players will be able to play in Monday’s final scrimmage against the Sacramento Kings, however, they should be all available on Thursday when the season officially resumes and the Clippers take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the absence of these three, Joakim Noah and Reggie Jackson have stepped up, both taking starting roles. With two key players still not with the team in Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell, they will likely continue to be key figures, albeit from the bench.
Harrell should be with the team after posting “See you soon Orlando” on his Instagram over the weekend. Williams, however, will miss the team’s first two seeding games after he was told he needs to quarantine for ten days upon his return to Orlando.
It’s great news for all of Clipper Nation that these three are back in the bubble and should be on the court in no time. All three are key figures on this roster and will be necessary if the team is going to win their first-ever NBA Finals.
